I just don't know how good the Nature's best is. There isn't as much information available about chicken feed as there is traditional pet foods.
Have you checked their website? The company has been doing feed for decades & has done organic for 20+ years I believe. They were onboard with organic way before the Big Ag companies. Great PA company.

I need a good, reliable source of consistent quality feed. Unfortunately the local pet and feed store carries only weird pet foods, and the only chicken feed they have is a crumble that looks like dust that my chickens hate. I have to travel a half hour to get to TSC, and they do not carry the pet foods that I prefer. The closest pet store is an hour away. So, I make big TSC runs for feed and for other livestock supplies, and order pet supplies online from Chewy and Wal Mart. Very convenient to get 80# of cat litter delivered directly to your door.

We get all of our feed (chickens, cattle, horses, dogs) from MFA Ag. The cost is economical, and we know what goes into it. The price is 50 lbs, not the 40 lb like you may get at a larger "Chain Store". I can have custom mixed, vitamins added, etc. if I wish. I can say that we are happy with what we get without adding special recipes though.
Also, it is convenient for us...DH has worked at MFA for years and is Manager in Gallatin, MO...so he just brings it home from work!

Scratch and Peck is a good, organic feed, although it's expensive. We soak it overnight to make it last longer. But they do offer free shipping: https://www.scratchandpeck.com and it's available through Chewy.com

Modesto Mills is also a good organic feed, but they don't offer free shipping: https://modestomilling.com

I cannot overstate how happy I am with my local coop - 'Legacy'.

$9.95 for a 50lb bag of layer feed!

I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a solid, but inexpensive alternative feed! Of course, I also supplement with daily kitchen scraps. I have never had an issue with nutrient deficiency and the girls love it. It's a mash, but I hang the feeder so that they can't scratch. The loss is extremely minimal.

Thanks! I clicked on the link and it looks like online orders are for local pickup only, although maybe that will change post-pandemic.
