I started ordering kalmbach from chewy. I was sick of driving all over to find fresh feed. It’s a little more expensive but it’s fresh (oldest bag I’ve gotten is 3 week from manufacture date) I save gas money not driving all over. Each feed store is 30 miles from me. I order it and my dog food when I have 3 days supply left but I always have gotten it on my door step the next day.

Me too, I also love that its All natural Non-GMO, and I will eventually switch to Organic for my chickens, but sadly theres no duck feed thats Organic.

I’m talking about poultry feed, dog feed, cat feed, etc! Where do you purchase it from?

Personally, I figured out it was in my pocketbook’s best interest that I buy at our local feed & seed! At TSC, I was paying $17.50 per 40lb bag of feed  I can get the same thing (in a bigger bag) for less money at my local feed store. I get 4, 50lb bags of feed right at $48.50 from the feed store. That’s somewhere around 12 bucks per bag. I’ve probably saved hundreds since swapping.

Open discussion... Where do you buy your feed from, and why?

I buy from TSC because they are closest. The feed stores, like Blue Seal Feeds, Agway, etc are very expensive and sell in larger quantities than I can store.

If I know my father is going to the mill to get his feeds I’ll have him pick me up a half pallet. If I’m out and need some I’ll run to TSC. I like having the plain brown bags from the mill and the plastic bags from TSC. I raise worms too. I use the paper bags for bedding then use the plastic for castings. So I guess it’s win win. As for quality the local feed smells better to me but the birds eat both just the same.

I envy everyone's choices! I live in a very rural area and there is a fair bit of livestock and some farming going on in the area, but farm and feed stores are severely lacking. We do have a TSC, but it has always been a horrible, horrible store (lack of selection and availability, slow to restock [if ever], lack of cleanliness, etc.).

Well there is always Amazon. Can’t go wrong there
