Interesting from that linked article, it says silkies originated "down under" as a cross-breed between yorkies and Aussie terriers. I didn't know that.

Well we know he can't mean they are silky smooth childrens. That dog must have got to them or the birds are molting, because they look pretty rough. :/

So he must really think they are Silkie chickens! I guess a simple Google search would have killed him.

Those birds look pitiful. They may be molting but some of the eggs look pitiful too. Hopefully someone may take them and give them a good home. At least he is giving them away and not trying to sell them.
