Where did you get your cockerels processed? I have 4 buckeye cockerels that I'm going to have processed. A friend and I just took 106 freedom rangers up to a place above Dayton to be processed last week. I wasn't sure how many of my buckeyes were cockerels until this past weekend, or I would have taken them with the others. I roasted one of mine this past sunday and it was DELICIOUS! They were about 10 - 11 weeks old.Woo hoo!
My extra BLRW cockerels were processed this morning as much as I hated to let them go for meat. I kept the sole pullet I hatched and one of the dark blue cockerels. I thought the pullet was black at first but I'm thinking she is a really dark blue now. I'm going to take some photos of the pair this weekend and see what everyone thinks.
Those boys better taste good considering what I paid for the eggs they came from plus feeding them for 16+ weeks!
