OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Woo hoo!

My extra BLRW cockerels were processed this morning as much as I hated to let them go for meat. I kept the sole pullet I hatched and one of the dark blue cockerels. I thought the pullet was black at first but I'm thinking she is a really dark blue now. I'm going to take some photos of the pair this weekend and see what everyone thinks.

Those boys better taste good considering what I paid for the eggs they came from plus feeding them for 16+ weeks!
Where did you get your cockerels processed? I have 4 buckeye cockerels that I'm going to have processed. A friend and I just took 106 freedom rangers up to a place above Dayton to be processed last week. I wasn't sure how many of my buckeyes were cockerels until this past weekend, or I would have taken them with the others. I roasted one of mine this past sunday and it was DELICIOUS! They were about 10 - 11 weeks old.

I have Troyer farms in Russellville do mine. They ate mennonites and extremely nice people. If you want their number I can PM it to you.

I'm here in a suburb of Cleveland! :3

Anyone know of a place that will custom mix/mill feed around here? Having a pain in the rear finding anywhere to do it. D:

im planning on going, not sure what ill have. i did set some eggs today, and ill set some more in a couple days. im pretty sure ill have several pharaoh quail, several old english bantams - if you want a certain color let me know. i set several eggs from my other cochins, orpingtons, dominiques, silkies, white rocks, silver laced wyandottes both sets of cornish, but i have some white laced red reserved. unless i sell them before, i have some millie fleure d'uccles, and a few groups of bantams sorted i might bring. i will also bring eggs from a few days before the show, for anyone who wants to incubate. im hoping in the next group to set at least a few black copper french marans, and a few basque. and if seven21 wants them ill bring some ck's
