Hi as promised. said sign. hope you like it. wow what a weared but intriuging bird to paint. the spots was a nightmare

only kidding
but really enjoyable doing the research. my girl thought they was sequines on there feathers. i have another sign to do for this byc member of her favorells. looking forward to painting these little fellas too

Steve and Carrie your paintings are just flat out awesome. What lucky BYCers to have found you to do their signs. You did a wonderful job. And then Sissy to be the lucky recipient of Carrie's square pond!

Taking some time off over the 4th of July and I WILL finish my studio and then I can start painting at home. My class is tomorrow and my new plate had its first firing so I can start to actually paint on it. This is what I'm doing. Yes, in china painting you are allowed to copy to get started. This is a bamboo calendar that they used to give away at the local Chinese restaurant and it was left in our second home when we bought it. I have always loved this gal and an excited to paint her. I'll take pictures of the process as I go along and post.

As promised here is the plate after the first firing. I back track a bit and explain the process quickly - 1st you trace the pictures on - this one happened to have lots of details - flowers and such as more free style. Then for this plate I went over the tracing with a pen dipped in china paint. Today in class I started the shadow work on the clouds - that has gone in for firing. Now I just have to remember to bring my camera each week.

Thanks for looking. Going to take a vacation next week so hopefully I will have my studio completed in that time. I have gotten all the walls/ceiling textured so going to start the painting process. I'm getting more excited all the time.
