ok, now worried

awe the poor little dears!
sad.png

If they were my chicks and I were able I would put them in a backpack worn in front, to sit with them around house with me a bit. Don't zip it all the way closed.
We did this in Honduras in the hospital and orphanage, and the babies we held more like this are the ones who thrived.
Then drive them to thier new home yourself so the trip isn't so stressful. Rent a limosine and let them cozy up to the bar. Celebrate the survivors! And because Survivors are heros, have the local police dept give you an escort and the highschool band play for them. Those Highschool kids can walk across town for a kiss from someone they are enthralled with. Surrely they can walk 15 miles for these poor little dear chicks.
And shame on the priority mail!

Give them all a kiss for me.
BTW,. there is some slimy green stuff that baby chicks love, and it helps them come out of thier shipping shock. Perhaps someone can tell you the name of it. I saw it at
randallburkey.com Check under supplements, I think.
Wishing you all the best, I don't think my sanity could hold up to such losses. You are a trooper. God Bless.
Regards,
MarlaKaye

i had already bought some stuff to put in the water (electrolytes and vitamins).
someone came buy to pick most of the chicks and 4 of them died at his house. i wish i would of waited a few more days, but i am sure they would of died anyway. ideal gave me credit no questions asked, (other than which ones).
the good news is I now have 6 that i am keeping and they are doing well. i feel horrible for the ones lost but i am relieved i am not dealing with dead or dying chicks at the moment.
i just gave a bath to one BR for the first time (pasty butt). that was cute watching her go from wet to fluffy in minute or two. now i can relax and listen to friends and family make jokes about it all, like "are you done breast feeding them yet"............ha..ha

First of all sorry for your losses...That's why I don't like mailed chicks....Wish you were close by and could pick up some newly hatched chicks from the incubator coming out this week....I think you did a wonderufl job with them. You should give yourself one big HUG for all of us. Soon you will get the incubator bug and be sure to check out some of the offerings for eggs I and other BYC'ers have for purty eggs.

God's blessing on you and your babies! Nancy
