cowboy, I have two pairs of rollers on eggs now. Got my new 2012 bands in,100,have big hopes of filling them all!lol
You were asking about the g.pigs taking the cold. I always gave mine heat till this year. A lady I have met at sales told me she doesn't,just keeps them inside a shed out of the drafts. She had babys born in 8 degree weather and survive so I decided to try mine that way this winter. So far so good. Had two cuties born last night! Will get pics today.
Rexbandit, I'd have loved to be your kid 40 yrs ago lol! That's a lot of stuff. YOung kids are so easy to get stuff for. Wait til they're teenagers, that sucks trying to get stuff for teens.
(Edit: I guess I'm on a "stuff" kick today.Sheesh).
Poco, I'm glad she made it safe and sound. I'll just bet she didn't mind a bit you hadn't folded the laundry yet. The 1st time I went out in the morning and let my chickens out with a hood on they all ran from me! I would talk and my Cochins would start to hurry to me when they heard my voice then look up at my head and run the other way lol
I got my Game boy put in his pen (sounds like a computer game). I'm going to make him a 10x10 after the holidays. Dang Christmas is getting in the way of my pen building-ha! He was trying to punk out the Silkie boys next door. He was so puffed up and proud of himself I didn't have the heart to tell him Silkie boys were as prissy as they come. Gosh, I sure love this boy. If you hold him in just the right way he melts into you. I'll never get tired of petting that long neck.
I need to make him a simple roost for this pen, I was hoping some of you had some ideas. Something like a sawhorse, maybe? Or one of those wooden ladders? I want him to be able to sit up high and see out above the lattice (it's covered to the roof with chicken wire, he can't get out). What do some of you all use for taller roosts in a pinch?

Here is a rough sketch.. the longer the bottom supports the better 2x4 for bottom, 1x4 for sides and top piece.
If the bird flies that high. If not, make two levels.
