I would begin by putting Vet Rx under their wing where the feathers are matted and then rub their comb, beak and wattles with Vet Rx. Others have suggested antibiotics and since I don't usually use antibiotics, I won't try and add any advice to theirs.Sick chickens been giving the antibiotics for two rounds now and they r still not better. I think the second picture is molting.v We have three with matted feathers around neck and upper wing area and they sleep with their heads inthe matted feathers. And they dont act right sometimes it sounds like they r growling. Any feedback ?

Kass, the babies are getting so big so fast, I'm loving that white one.
Modernman, I don't know who the judge is. BanjoeJoe will know but he doesn't get on very often.
One thing that has me stumped....these 10 chicks the Bantam Cochin hatched are all super healthy, running around like crazy and growing fast. Yet their mama lived in the layers yard among 15 other chickens from various sources. You'd think she'd have been exposed to all sort of things. She's never been sick but a couple others in that yard have had respiratory crap and gotten over it. I've been *bleaching my shoes before entering yards for almost a year now to try to avoid spreading disease to my hatched chicks. You'd think the Bantam Cochin girl would be Typhoid Mary of the chicken world-her chicks are a month old yet they've never been sick. Confuses me. They can't pass immunity onto their chicks, can they?
