Wow I really didn't think that Harrah would shut down.

I think Newcastle will be good; I bet alot of the Cement comers will be going. There aren't really any other auctions this far south!

A guy came up to me at Atwoods and said 'Aren't you the girl with all the chickens?' (

) Then I find out that his daughter bought four of my chickens when I sold them.

They paid $17 a piece for four bantams!

So I thanked him. *ha*

Carla, I wanted to tell you that Bun Bun is one of the sweetest pets I have ever had! (That's right, I couldn't come up with a name.

) I never knew bunnies could have so much personality. I spoil him, he gets all kinds of treats. But next week he may not like me as much, he's going to get neutered...

Goldrose, I meant to tell you, I'm sorry I didn't talk more when I saw you at Atwoods. I haven't been well and am just not feeling like myself. I had to laugh at myself though, because it was hard to refrain from saying 'Oh, there's Goldrose!'

Wanted to share a couple of pictures.

This is a turtle that crawls up my granmother's porch ramp everyday after she feeds the cats. He plays in the water dish until it turns over, then goes to get a bite to eat.

This is my grandmother with her giant Pyrenese. They're both a little camera shy. *ha* She named it Happy, because she said it looked like it was smiling. Get ready Carla and Gerald!

Cammie, could you look at that flyer again & see if maybe you typed Hwy number wrong? I think it should be Hwy 62.

Also, I love the picture of your grandmother' & her pyrenees! The tortoise pic is cute too.

You're going to neuter Bun Bun?

LOL!!! I know what you mean (countyroad!) LOL

Don't worry....I felt the same way. Like I said, Mommy-O was getting worn out and I needed to get hom and work my 'nag' as well! KB

Yes, it is. I don't think we will be going, though; we probably won't even be in town this Tuesday.
We did go to the last one, because I had to sell some more birds. It was a huge, huge, huge auction! I wouldn't have been surprised if it went until 2:00 or longer!

Carla, I bet it is 62. I used to live off of Hwy 92, that must be why I typed it. *ha* I tossed my flyer yesterday, and they cleared the board at work.

Is it the barn across from the school? That's where the show was that Grace and I went to. Oh and about Bun Bun... He must've reached puberty, and he's gotten stinky... The vet and the Blanchard rescue recommended I have him neutered. Our cats are, so I guess the bun should be too. *ha*

Well, this is the first try at putting a picture on here. This is my new Great Pyrenees puppy Iris Florentina Fleur-de-Lis ... we just call her Iris! Well, she isn't quite as clean as she was in the picture anymore ... she loves to dig in the dirt and lay in the mud!

She doesn't look like a boy dog!

Her name is Iris, because she was born on April 15th ... Gerald named her in honor of the I.R.S., where we love to donate a considerable portion of our paychecks!

Anyway, since she's registered, I had to come up with some fancy name for her, so I searched a bit on the internet, and found the perfect name ... Iris Florentina Fleur-de-Lis ... since her heritage is as AKC says "The breed is of French royalty and nobility and working associate of the peasant shepherds high on the slopes of the Pyrenees Mountains" and "It was in the isolation of the lonely mountain pastures that the Pyrenean Mountain Dog developed his inherent traits of devotion, fidelity, sense of guardianship, and intelligent understanding of mankind. Here, in the days when packs of wild animals roamed the mountain slopes freely, he was the official guardian of the flocks. With the dogs' ability to scent and keen sight he was an invaluable companion of the shepherd. "

So, since we name her Iris, and since she's white and of French nobility, I named her Iris Florentina Fleur-De-Lis, which if you google it ... Iris Florentina is a white iris, and fleur-de-lis, accordig to Wikipedia is "translated from French as lily flower is a stylized design of either an iris or a lily that is now used purely decoratively as well as symbolically, or it may be "at one and the same time political, dynastic, artistic, emblematic and symbolic especially in heraldry". Sorry, I could go on, but I know ... that's too much information. We should be talking chickens here!

Iris is beautiful and will be a great addition to your family of critters. In the past two years, I have only lost one chicken to a predator in the area where my Great Pyranees is "stationed." In contrast, we have lost about 10 chickens in the fenced area that is only protected by live traps - and those live traps have caught quite a few skunks and possum in the same time frame.

Thank you for the compliments! I'm definitely hoping Iris will protect the birds and also the cats & smaller dogs, and an eventual a goat or two. So far, she is doing wonderful, although I believe she's responsible for the teeth marks and leak on the water hose on my koi pond. I'll certainly be glad when she gets through teething. She's such a sweetie! I think she loves Gerald the most!
