Okiechick, we are all saddened by the loss of your granddaughter. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Our love and support will always be here for you.

Just shopping some ideas around.

!. If our Okie event was April 25th instead of the 11th would that be better? Who can't come then?

2. Who would plan to come to the event if the date, any date is OK for you?

3. Any more ideas on what you might want to do or see done?

I don't expect to have a problem with any date that the majority comes up with .... well, except for the possibility of my very first grandchild's arrival. She's due April 22nd

That would be the only reason I'd possibly miss our Okie Party.

but then again .... I may have to slip out early & go to the Blanchard Poultry Auction. It's an addiction, ya know.

Speaking of auctions, Gerald and I will be heading to Cement for their auction Saturday night. We're taking silkie pullets to Al, along with putting some chicks & tom turkeys and some other miscellaneous birds in the auction. The weather is supposed to be wonderful, including wonderfully windy ... what do you expect? it's Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweeping down the plains! Now I'm singing that tune in my head!

Too bad Chupp's auction is so far away for us to attend also. We've done that twice now, gone to both the Chupps auction and Cement auction. Gerald and I are too old for that! We just about fell asleep on the road Saturday morning driving to Inola the last time. We can no longer go without sleep at night.

I don't know the physical address but it is 4 blocks north on Main st & the hwy, on the left. Blue and white building across from the fire dept. Cement looks like a ghost town most of the time, so when you see 20 trucks parked at one place your there. it is really easy to find once you get to cement, if there is a vehicle moving just follow it to the auction LOL. I am not kidding.

Hey everyone. I rarely post in here...I don't know why! LOL! I will start, though! I will have to go back and see where the meet up is, I am not real familiar with anything outside of the immediate Tulsa area, since we are not from here originally. Is there a separate thread that is talking about this? I will keep looking. I wasn't sure if there was one, or not. I just happened to see the thread in B/S/T and followed it here.

Okiechick-I am so sorry to hear about your tragedy. I will keep you in my thoughts.

Good to see you back on here and hopefully you will jump in with this chatty bunch.
I haven't started another thread about this since it is just been mostly discusssion so far and I just like keeping things together and not have to be switching around. But that is just me.
When we get something definite I might start another thread.
The areas we are talking about is south of OKC. One is just east of Norman. Blanchard is southwest of Norman.

Al is excellent at describing the town of Cement. If anyone get's lost, there's a gas station or two in the area and you can ask for directions to the Cement fairgrounds, but it's really easy to get to. Just turn North on Main street, as Al said and it's on the left side in a building on their fairgrounds. Here's the google map link of Cement: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=cemen...WcCw&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&resnum=1&ct=title

As of now that date is all free! Of course, I can be sure not to have anything else going on then since I'll know ahead of time about this

I've said I will organize a contest or two, but another thing I would like to do is a raffle table. I could bring enough stuff to get us started, and I would ask (beforehand) for others to bring stuff to donate. Anything that related to poultry would be allowed and welcomed (hatching eggs would be great, too

). We would have to come up with a place for the money it raised to be donated to.... possible to the one bringing all the food!

Hello Okies,

How is everyone doing down south?

The Big spring K&L auction is coming up. It is February 28th - March 1st.

For more info for sale terms, sales order, and a list of consignments go to our website.
www.kramerlivestockfarm.com and click on the livestock sale page.

Have a good day,
Jason

I would love to go to a swap. Or, for me, it would have to be a sale, because I don't have anything to swap right now! LOL! Other side of OKC might be far with the kids and all...maybe there will be one closer to NE OK? If not, maybe I will have to host one!

Closer to time I might be able to slip away. I just don't know. It sounds like so much fun!
