Congrats to all that showed and placed this past weekend!

As TJ NaNa reported we did do well at Tulsa. We showed 10 chickens and one duck, came home with 7 blue ribbons, 2 whites and a pink.

I do wish that they would give additional ribbons for BV, RV, BB, & RB like they did at our county fair.

BTW, I read in the paperwork for Tulsa that APA members and ABA members would be getting APA/ABA awards for their qualifying wins. And under ABA it says that members would receive starred wins for Best of Breed and Best of Variety when 100 or more birds are competing... So, it sounds like the Tulsa show was considered a sanctioned show???

i would consider moving but I just can't leave OKlahoma and I don't want to be out there in the flat lands with all that wind. I guess I will just have to live with winter!

I'm always warning my wife about batting away flies when we go to auctions, teasing her they might think she was bidding on something. Well, I was at the Lawton city auction on Saturday, and they were auctioning off all the vehicles and related junk. The auctioneer was working on a pile of the latter when one fella starts waving at a friend slowly driving by in his pickup.

On the other side of the auctioneer.

Now, this guy is a friend of mine, but I was too far away to stick him in the ribs, but I'm thinkin' "Man, you better put that hand down!" Apparently he can't read my mind because he just keeps waving at his friend, trying to get his attention.

Finally, the auctioneer stops and says, "Are you waving at somebody or are you trying to bid? I hope its that last one because you're about to buy this big load of junk"

Everybody laughs and my friend sheepishly puts his hand down. The auctioneer walks over and takes his tag out his pocket, looks at it and puts it back.

"Okay, I got your number now. Wave at me one more time."

That auction crowd laughed so hard and my friend turned about three shades of red. I can't wait to see him to ask him what he did with all those bumpers and rims and doors and such he bought on Saturday.

I best most of you don't know where Rose is, I'm about and hour east of tulsa. Any of you guys here in NE OK have silkies, seabright or cochins? I don't have any yet, but I'm going to odder some this spring, someone what to go in on an order maybe?

well other then the birds, we have horses. I train the colts we have/end up with, then sell them. I'm working with a little gray right now, his trot is sooo smooth. wish I knew more people who wanted to ride in the cold. most of my family are friends wimp out.

Welcome That-crazy-lady!!

I haven't even thought of what I want come spring but I am hoping it won't be baby chicks! The only thing I hope to hatch will be silkies and cochins! My husband may kill me.

We also have horses. DH is a team roper, I just ride when I get a chance.
