One-dish recipes!! Please post yours!

It was very good! I added a bit of milk to it (didn't say in your post whether or not to, but it looked kind of dry). I had to add salt, which means my dad had to add a LOT of salt, but other than that it was pretty good

I think next time I make it I might add some worcestershire sauce or something, to give it some 'pizzazz'

IMO there's no easier one dish recipe than pasta and cheese dishes. This is my favorite . . . I make it when the last thing in the world I want to do is cook.

2 cups elbow macaroni
3 Tbsp butter or margarine
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 celery stalk, thinly sliced
3 Tbsp flour
3/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
2 cups milk
1 can of chicken
1 cup cheddar cheese

Prepare macaroni as label directs; drain.
Meanwhile, in 3 qt saucepan over medium heat, melt butter; add pepper and celery and cook until tender. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Gradually stir in milk and cook, stirring constantly, until sauce is slightly thickened. Stir in chicken and cheese. Remove from heat when cheese is melted, and stir in the macaroni.

I hate doing more dishes than is absolutely necessary, so I just cook the macaroni first, drain it, and set it aside in the colander so I can use the same pot for cooking the veggies and sauce before dumping it all back together again. I also love greens, so the measly little amount of pepper and celery the recipe calls for is totally ignored as I throw in two or three bell peppers and several stalks of celery.

Here's another dish I make on those "I donwanna cook!" days. You can cook up the chicken for it, but I only make it when I have leftover chicken to stick in already.

Spaghetti
1 block Velveeta
1 can Rotel
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Leftover/cooked chicken

Prepare spaghetti as label directs; drain.

Mix all ingredients together.

I like things hot so I thought I'd like Hot Rotel and Hot Velveeta, but I found the two mixed together are just too hot for me, so I usually use one Hot and one Original, doesn't matter which is which. When I cook it for my step-dad I chop jalapeno peppers into it for him. Depending on how much spaghetti you decide to use and how big a household you live in, it could be in your fridge for over a week . . . very budget friendly meal.

Okay I'll jump in here and give you the easiest pot roast ever.

Pot Roast:

3 lb roast, beef or pork
1 and 1/2 lbs cut up carrots
2 lbs. cut potatoes
some pearl onions if you want
1 envelope dry onion soup
1 can cream of celery soup (trust me, it's really yummy!)
1 can of water

You can put all this in a crock pot, roast first, and put it on high for like 8 hours. The gravy it makes is soooooo good!

Or you can put this all in a dutch oven and put it in the oven at 350 for about an hour or a longer. I have even done a frozen roast in the oven in a pinch and it comes out great.

I'll be making this tomorrow since I have to work. I just love coming home to a dinner already made.

You have to trust me on this, no one will know there is celery soup in this recipe!

OK, This takes two pans, but brown as much hamburger as it takes to completely cover the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan. Probably about 1.5 to 2 pounds. Make mashed potatoes, put on top. Drizzle with melted butter. Bake at 350 for about 20 min, until the taters start browning a bit around the edges. Cut into squares. Top with brown gravy . . . .OMG. I fix a salad or green beans. Not exactly one pan, but darn close.
