Ruby got her name from "max and Ruby" her sister is Elizabeth from "Clifford" and DW came from "Arthur". Oh the joys when your kids get to name them! Our 10 yr old named our 2 chocolate brothers Titan and Maximus

I have no idea where my daughter got the name Ruby. I assumed it was based on the gem, but now that I think about it, it seems more likely it was from some character, possibly the same one as your kids used!

Haha. It's cute. We have a matriarch couple (the chocolate parents) they are Frank and Fancy. Frank is short for Frankenstein (my hubby named). He was attacked shortly after we got him and we weren't sure if he would make it. His beak was damaged really bad, his comb torn to the point I had to clip some of it and his breast raw from his feathers being ripped. Needles to say he is our most docile roo from all the handling and care he received. He and Fancy are inseparable. They are like an old couple!

I had a chicken -- a hen, actually -- that could have gone by Frank after an unfortunate encounter with a possum. She was never quite the same after that.
