Ownder Defends Business

If it was New York, the business owner would probably spend the rest of his life in jail. If it was England, the press would destroy him and he'd also go to jail.

mom'sfolly :

I mentioned they were not in the house because several postings implied they were.

I never said they were not stealing, or that stealing was right. I never said someone shouldn't defend their life. What I said was I didn't think an air conditioner was worth a human life.

I don't think so, either. Theft is not and should not be a capital offense, IMO.

If the victim feared for his life or his safety, I can understand using deadly force. But for a replaceable object that was probably insured? It's just completely insane to me that someone would shoot two people over something like that.

I hope that wasn't the case or that they were at least given some warning.

I don't think I'd hesitate to kill someone who was threatening my family, but everything else really is replaceable.

Those men deserved to be arrested, tried, and serve prison time for what they attempted to do. Execution is a little steep if they were only committing theft.

I'm with Boyds opinion. If I expressed my true feelings for Meth-head thieves and social parasites I would be banned from the internet forever.

When a person is caught doing something they should not be doing it may suprise many what lengths they will go to in order to avoid being caught. It all happens so quickly.Shot or be shot.

Some burglars go into a house to just take STUFF,and then firgure what the heck let me rape and/or kill this family since I am already here. Happens in a business setting too.

Great law that allows people to kill those who trespass and are up no good.We don't have it here in Ohio, but I will deal with the law after the fact ,and just hope I really can kill anyone who tries to hurt me and my own.I don't care if they just wanted the tv or some food--don't have time to figure it out-they picked the wrong place to enter.

The problem is that people want the ability to choose the CONSEQUENCES of their actions. We all have the God given ability to choose our actions, but NOT the consequences. The laws in Texas are awesome.

The two crooks CHOOSING to commit this crime in Chicago: "Hey let's go steal an air conditoner for money to buy crack...OK, no one can own guns in chicago, we will be safe."

The two crooks CHOOSING to commit this crime in Houston: "Hey let's go steal an air conditoner for money to buy crack....Uhhhhh, listen here cowboy, if'n we try that someone is likely to shoot us dead!.......Oh, right. better just stay home and play video games."

Evidently, these two clearly fine gentlemen were either too stupid or too high or too drunk to think this litte joyride over before making the effort. You won't catch me stealing EVER, but if I HAD to it sure as HELL WOULDN'T BE IN TEXAS!!!! Dumbasses.....

I have my concealed weapons permit. People say that is wrong and they are scared because they don't know who is carrying a gun. You know what you DO know about me when I am carrying (which is all the time)? That I have NEVER broken a law, a very long and deep background check was done on me. I have been trained, passed a test, passed a test for shooting ability, and have taken the care to make sure I do it LEGALLY. It isn't me you need to worry about, it is the bonehead I'm gonna shoot to save your butt when he has a gun pointed at you or another innocent bystander in the mini-mart or the bank. Your welcome, no charge, no autographs. Just say thanks and go home to your family. and don't steal my air conditioner outside my business, my neighbors business, the local library, or ANY FREAKIN WHERE ELSE.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!!! LET FREEDOM RING!!!

I'm with you bigdaddy, I have my permit and couldn't agree more with what you said. The only thing that could have turned out better for this business owner in Texas is if he would have killed them, that way the taxpayers aren't hung with the medical bill; and the court would have to have gone hundreds of miles to fined a jury that would have convicted this business owner!

punishment crime ratio went away with parents training their children properly. kids need work at all ages to understand the concept of the proper way to get "things" is to earn them.

Like I said origionally, they used to hang horse thieves in this country, and in other areas cut off a hand of a thief. Let the punishment fit the crime? Isn't that an 80's thing? Crime has been around much longer than the 80's.

This is my philosophy... Your rights end at the edge of my property line. If there is a closed gate, it means I don't want company. If my door is locked it means under no circumstances come in uninvited. If I happen to leave the keys in the ignition of my car in my own driveway, the car and everything else better be there when I come back. Any monkeyshines is a fast ticket to heaven, hell, allah, the great spirit, or the Goddess.

You come on my property and intend to cause me monetary or physical harm, you better have your ducks in a row, 6 pall bearers for your funeral, and a plot already picked out and paid for, because lord knows we have enough Hav-Nots in this country, and we don't need to burden the taxpayers for the thieves lifestyle and the end thereof.
