Peachicks of 2017, Show Us Your Babies!

Just an update on the little peachick, still going strong but unfortunately she/he will be alone as the next day the mother had left the other two eggs. But they were both unfertilised, i didn't think she would know and just sit on them until they hatched.

Our other Peahen that had lost her two Peachicks is showing a strong interest in her Peachick. Is this normal?

All the other birds in that pen will be interested in what is going on, they are very curious birds in general. Some of the hens will be hateful the to chicks and some will try to steal the babies for themselves. The hen on the other side of the gate was cooing to the baby trying to get it to come to her.

My babies are getting big! They'll be six weeks old on Wednesday. Getting to be time to move them to their outdoor big brooder. Will probably do that next weekend.

The PBS looks hen to me. The first Purple looks cock and the second Purple looks hen. The second Pied looks hen but the camera shadow is covering too much of the birds. It is still a b it early to say for sure on the Purples and Pieds.

Thanks! I'll post again when they're older. The only one I know for sure on is the purple BS, because I had him DNA sexed. The rest, the jury is still out on!
