Sorry the second egg wasn't viable. If you are certain I'd remove it. Will keep fingers crossed for the tiny one. At least it won't have to compete with a stronger nestmate. A few of my hatchlings last summer died within a day of hatch, so it does happen. Those parents raised later babies successfully, so it's hard to know why some don't make it.I have some sad news. Bonnie’s other egg stopped developing.
It hadn’t hatched yet, so this evening I candled it and I’m sure it has quit. Looked very close to full-term too! I left the egg, but I guess I should remove it tomorrow?
The single that hatched is super tiny, I hope it survives. Another loner, but that’s ok I guess.
