I have some sad news. Bonnie’s other egg stopped developing.
It hadn’t hatched yet, so this evening I candled it and I’m sure it has quit. Looked very close to full-term too! I left the egg, but I guess I should remove it tomorrow?

The single that hatched is super tiny, I hope it survives. Another loner, but that’s ok I guess.

Sorry the second egg wasn't viable. If you are certain I'd remove it. Will keep fingers crossed for the tiny one. At least it won't have to compete with a stronger nestmate. A few of my hatchlings last summer died within a day of hatch, so it does happen. Those parents raised later babies successfully, so it's hard to know why some don't make it.

After six weeks of offering them and having them rejected, Olive started eating the pellet food tonight - all of a sudden a ton of it. She seems to know she's missing something. I will feel better knowing her nutrition is rounded out with a supplemented diet, at least to make up for the lack of vitamin D she'd be getting outside.

Aww man! To bad yes, I would remove it. And that small one should make it without the competition of a nestmate.

I ordered those when i ordered my leg bands. Now that we have three pairs of breeding age i guess I'll need to order more bands in the middle of the hatching season.

12s pouters are a little under a year so they should produce too.

6 only got the one male and he's barely six months. No hurry to find the big lug a hen.

I am offering a similar grit mix to all my birds which is eggshells, oyster shells, charcoal, and sand grit plus two other components I can't remember because I threw out the box. She eats that up.

I definitely would! Does it give contact\address? Would be nice to have a close pigeon breeder close by.

Yes! None of my club members is within an hour of me except Marcos who sold me my first homers.
