Another week at the same temperature and the squab would have had enough plumage to survive.Well we lost Shadow/java’s squeaker today. 12 days old
Not pigeons but my favorite squeaker and I took advantage of a break in the rain today.

Loss is part of a pigeon fanciers life and it is never easy.
Older experienced pigeon parents may have save the squab. Most pigeon fanciers have experienced the same thing I am no exception. It is a lesson for the parents as well as the fancier in some cases.
What a sweet little squeaker too!Not pigeons but my favorite squeaker and I took advantage of a break in the rain today.

Im convinced they think they know better than me.I have 23 chickens and its a nice managble amount. You will have to remind them to stop hiding eggs from ya!
I’m getting fever watching all of these baby posts. My Zitterhall have been in and out of the nests all week.
Yesterday my dun hen refused to leave the nest. Even when I put grain down. I’m hoping I’ve got an egg when I get home tomorrow.
I can’t WAIT for babies.
Thank you. I was trying to keep a good eye on that one, but I guess I didn’t check quite often enough. Definitely a difficult lesson, but a lesson nonetheless.
They look pretty Awsome! Could you imagine if they had red eyes!
