Pigeon Talk

Well, I can Understand you not putting those together. You are also probably too smart to gamble:thumbsup
Gambling is popular in your area. Here is a kwik Copy n Paste.
Australia's Gambling Environment:
Australians love a punt and new research shows we wager more, and lose more, than any other country in the world. But some people say this is just because we have the most opportunity to gamble, given the huge numbers of venues that provide some form of gambling.
Backyard Pigeons is from the US, but also smart enough not to gamble.
Also, I am a young person. I don’t know if this stuff for reasons. I tend to tell my parents off about it. Like on holidays my dad played bingo and he didn’t get anything. I was like we could’ve spent that money on chocolate or food.

how often are you handling your squeakers? I have one that is 18 days old and it seems to be a bit grumpy. I'd love for it to welcome me but I suppose until I'm feeding it Mom will still be more welcome. I can't believe how fast they grow. It's crazy.

I haven't posted in a while. I got a new job and life has been crazy. Sitting on some new videos too. Hoping to post more regularly again. How's everyone been?

Howdy! Congrats on the new job!!

I’m new at this too, but with my first pair’s squeaker, I was able to handle it a little while it was still in the nest, but it never got used to me, and now I can’t touch it. The young pair now is the pair that I brought inside and fed for a week when it got so cold, and momma had stopped covering them at night. They accept accept and trust me now. They are separated from the group because of being picked on, and get so excited when I come to the cage. I’m understanding why that one YouTube guy brings them inside at 2 weeks old.
I just hope they will be accepted back into the flock when the time comes.

How interesting, very poorly structured song. Do you sell your canaries?

Poorly structured songs are basically just non-melodic squeaks and whistles and don't sound very nice.

I do sell them, once they're adults.

Another egg hatched and there are three again today. The finches were brooding them and trying to feed them but I noticed the baby canaries were not readily opening up for them, the finches were not provided the right behavioral cues to indicate to the babies that they were providing food. So they'd stick food in their beaks if I tapped the babies a bit to get them to open up but they were not feeding when I wasn't assisting. I hand-fed the chicks before bed, then let the finches brood the chicks overnight, and hand-fed them formula this morning and have now put them back under their mother. After being full on formula, they were MUCH more active and chirping than yesterday and they were more obviously begging for food, and their mom actually did feed at least one right away. In a few minutes I am going to check their crops and see if she fed all of them. If she did, she should continue. I'm hoping this is just inexperience and that as the babies grow and become more vigorous she will feed them and raise them normally.
