Thanks! The only thing left at my cabin is one lone surviving Swedish duck. I’m planning to take a friend to be with him very soon.
The 2 chicken flocks I had there have been sold or brought back to my house, so everything is at home now.

The food looks more or less undigested. Is there anything I can give her that she's not liable to throw up? I softened one pellet in water and let her swallow it yesterday just to see if it would come up too since they break down so quickly and it came up too.

Could she have an obstruction in the throat? With her neck being twisted could that be preventing food going down? Has she drank any water?

Very good point, I just assumed I was being vomited up from the crop.

Actually it went on very easily. I hope I didn’t get too large, but they stayed on. It might be more loose when they grow up, but I think it will be ok.
I ordered by the recommendation on the website, 10mm I believe, but I think I bought 8s in the clip ones.

Next week my nephew is going to be helping me work on the lofts. I've got all the material and a bad back so I'm waiting on help.

Don't recommend breaking your back. Let alone three times in five years. I don't break horses anymore. Hah !

My new lens came in. Tamron 150-600 --- I'll be using it this weekend at the show. I really enjoy bird photography and have been chasing birds my whole life.

My old lens was just that. Old. Ten years of being thrown around and run through the elements. Sent it in for a cleaning but I'll probably retire it now.

Here's a video I took after feeding her. When she stands still and relaxes the head tilting isn't as bad. She's getting better at balancing with it but it has not gone away.

Baby squab #2 has hatched! My DW we t in this morning when I was, at work and saw it. Boomer was just chucking the old shell out! It was still wet so it must have only just hatched! Can't wait to get home now!

@h2oratt Harris Hawks. They're fun to study. Quite the athlete. Their agility is unsurpassed in their region. I've seen them take down flying songbirds. They prefer rabbits and ground squirrels though. That requires work flushing them from the underbrush. They live in groups of three or more.

@CCUK Yes. I've been published in national geographic, even.


My grizzled pair is talking this morning with the rooster crows. (My temporary loft is next to my bedroom window) I'm hoping they start laying soon so I can join the ranks of successful breeding.

The feed froze (or the playback) right as the hawk swoops in, plus I recorded the screen with my phone, so this is horrible quality. But it’s still obvious.

I remember that one and it still shocks me!

I'm a photographer, not a film maker. I don't do moving pictures... Not steady enough.

@Qwerty3159 The twisted neck makes me wonder if the hawk damaged her esophagus. That would make it hard to swallow. That's where tube feeding would be beneficial.

@Qwerty3159 are you getting tired of these tags?! I would defrost the peas in warm water, and then open her beak and place it in there. Make sure it goes down and doesn't block breathing. This provides hydration and food. Do 5-10 if she is getting them down well.

Did you see the bird vomited the peas and corn she gave? I'm not sure what's causing that.
