Pigeon Talk

You know, I think I'll go ahead and move the yellow cream bars into the loft sooner. If they pair 'wrong', I'll be okay with it. The silver hen is a dilute anyway, so she'll be able to make more cream yellow bars with the CYB cock. Cream yellow is just diluted ash red. So all their chicks would actually still be CYB - they'd just also be split to silver.

Kite bronze and CYB, that one could be interesting. Mostly because I don't actually know what color genes are going on with the cock, lol. I dunno, take a look and tell me what you think is going on here, aside from the kite, which of course I know, lol:

all I know is he's pretty! :p

I'm terrible with genitics, but I'm working on it! :)

Wow! 800 pages! Good job yall!

And thank you @WVduckchick for starting this thread! It's my favorite, (and only:oops:) thread I hang out on regularly...

Thank you! 8000 posts in less than a year. We've got a great bunch of folks here. I take no credit except for starting the thread because I knew so little about pigeons. You experienced folks are the ones that have kept it going... and kept it fun and interesting!
:hugs

I'm thinking he's blue T-check, personally. With added Kite. But confirmation would be good, lol.

I didn't really know what Kite was, so I just googled it. Still not quite certain how it works, so I have no idea about your boy. He sure is a stunning bird though!

Are you sure it's kite? I don't know... maybe it's just the picture, but I don't see any bronzing on that bird.

I think I have a basic understanding of their genetics but not as far as the less common factors like that.

I joined a few pigeon groups on Facebook a while ago and there are some other people with indoor birds. Most of them keep them very well. Then you see these types of people. With just disgusting sh*t covered cages in a dark room full of birds. And everyone is quick to defend them like this is not only really sad for the birds to live in but also how much dander and fecal particles must be floating in the air in these people's houses? That is how you get lung disease.

I get an outside loft isn't spotless but in the house you really need to keep up on it. And in a loft, the birds dont have to stand on it all day.
