Pigeon Talk

The baby didn't make it :hit He was the wrong way in the egg. His yolk also wasn't finished absorbing, so he may have had other issues too.
I am so sorry. It's annoying when something doesn't work out, that you have been waiting for for such a long time.

There was two eggs but only one was fertile. I'm guessing it was the first egg she layed. I left it in. I'll leave it till tomorrow and remove it.
I suspect it was the second. :) one mating will cover both with eggs fertility, so if it were the first, both should have been fertile.

Yeah that's what I thought. The first egg being the infertile one. With this being there first hatch and probably her first time laying an egg I don't think she's done too bad! The weather's turned here so just having one will work in her favour.

Sorry to hear that about the NN :(

Anyone kept any of these before? American Show Racer, looks a bit like the Dragoon to me.

I'm always on the hunt on the local craiglist for people getting rid of cheap rabbit hutches and those prefab chicken coops. Something to have on hand if go to a pigeon show or find a nice pair or two of birds on craigslist as well. This one's 5 feet by 2 feet by "4ish" high. Needs to have the wire replaced but it looks like something I could split in half and build an aviary onto to keep a few in. Obviously it'd require some reconfiguration, but it seems to be in decent condition for $75. I might have to borrow a buddy's truck and grab it.

Also in consideration is just building something like this because I'm beginning to itch to bring something back from that show next month. My wallet's still sore from that aviary I just built, though. I suppose I could throw whatever I get in with the homers eventually after a quarantine but they definitely appreciate all the extra room they currently get.
