Great!!
Although, I think I'd be tempted to lay that egg on its side. But it does appear to be making progress.
Actually, I think it looks like it is zipping. Am I mistaken? Is it out yet??

After these little ones have hatched out, take a look at the shells and see if you can see where the air cell was. I would be fascinated to know, as I am totally baffled by this.Hm that's strange. I was very careful in handling them and the first time we candled after a week with the little end up they looked similar to this. And actually since then the other egg has actually had the air sac move to the large end after day 22. I'm not really sure what is going on
Chirping but not out quite yet. Was never white sure what was considered zipping but I agree it does look broken most of the way around!Actually, I think it looks like it is zipping. Am I mistaken? Is it out yet??![]()

Yes, zipping is once they make the final move to start making their way around the shell. They “zip” off the cap and pop out. Usually once the zip starts, they quit resting so much and stay with zipping...usually an hour or 90 minutes tops!
If you see a zip line more than a couple inches wide, I’d help it finish. It’s been a while!
Usually you can just pry the end of the shell off, just follow the direction it already started, but let the duckling kick out by itself. If they stop part way, they sometimes give up.
I'll check on it and see. Looks to be at least an inch and a half around. Made progress since this morning but the membrane has darkened. Do you think he's stuck? Time to help?
He doesn't seem to be moving out chirping anymore either when I took him out for that picture
Seems that i can't pull much more shell off without ripping the membrane, no visible blood vessels. What should I do? So far no more signs of movement
