Please help! New to hatching! Day 27 and no pips!

She's got a damp paper towel over the air sac end where I chipped away a lot of the egg to try find her beak, I also put coconut oil on the membrane.

Coconut oil is good....wet towel can chill egg/chick.
It probably wouldn't have made it if veins were still red.

Well wet paper towels actually don't chill the egg but draws out moisture and can shrink wrap the babies. Water has the opposite effect.

Yes, I believe it did.

Possibly it died because it either drowned or couldn't externally pip the shell.

The incubator isn't cold it's hatching at close to 100..Water draws out moisture.

I have an egg still alive in the incubator i have carefully picked away at the beak for it to be able to breathe and it is chirping but there are still some small blood veins should I help it out or wait? It is a very late egg!

Any chance you can get a picture and post it?

If you've opened the shell over the air cell, usually when they're ready they will push themselves out, no further help needed.

There's a lot of conflicting information here, making me uncertain what to do.

I think the chick is shrink wrapped. But I've been trying to keep her as moist as possible.

I'll take a photo and post it asap.

If the vessels still have blood its not ready. Is it struggling to come out? Is it yawning and just sleeping mostly?

Oh yeah I know what to look for in regards of absorption etc. So I'm fine with that - I was regarding the whole paper towel & keeping the egg moist comments. I was using a piece of wet kitchen roll before but now I took that off and just put coconut oil over the membrane, but everyone's saying different things so I got confused on what to do lol!

She's still got a few small red veins on her membrane but the membrane is really drying out in places, going dark brown. :/ But her beak is out in the open.
Chewing motions and yawning, still absorbing. Just got to wait and hope she survives!
