Plymouth Rock thread!

Kris, I still have a few of those myself. They are what I started with and why I love the breed, especially the barred variety. Even "everyday" BRs are lovely birds.

I agree. I started with a hatchery BR and still have her. I love her personality.

I have a black hen I hatched from halo's blue rocks. Her name is Beauty. She looks a lot like Emily.

I so love the rock personality. And the barred pattern is fun to watch when they roam around the yard.

I have a couple of blakcs from Halo too. They seem to have a whole different personality! Mine love to be picked up and carried around, but the blues and barred are a little more standoffish. Wonder if that behavior is linked to the color. I don't think it is the way they were treated as chicks because I remember handeling the blues more. ..........stan

This is our Barred Plymouth Rock, Gloria! She is a disabled hen, her foot got stepped on by a horse and was rescued from a 4x4 pen inhabited by 15 other chickens! She's a lucky lil' girl now! Healthy treats, spacious pen and coop and regular attention.

Sqribble, your barred rocks look great. If you would like to trade some of those eggs next spring, I have several rare breeds.

Hey Lucky thanks alot ! I am really enjoying these birds,I have been looking a long time for some of these birds.
