*POLL* Would you pay "top dollar" for a chick? If so, what would be your limit?

I've heard completely different stories regarding their quality.
That actually comes from people who have bought Greenfire eggs and stock, and then used the name to promote their own breeding stock, which has become diluted by using non-Greenfire stock with the Greenfire stock. Marketing gimmick to sell. "I've got Greenfire stock in my flock!" Never mind that the breeding pair was only HALF Greenfire.

There has been a tremendous amount of time and work put into what they have.
Boom.
I'm coming from a dog breeding background and I've spoken to some Gamecock breeders as well.
I will go as so far as to say that once a breeder has locked in on a variety or the strain, I feel in that breeder should put his or her name on that line so as to know wherethat bird came from.
For example;
you're walking somebody through your yard showing them your breeding pens by identifying the strain that you have they know what kind of blood you've got in your yard.
But that's just me.
I may be overstepping here and since I don't have a lot of experience I haven't touched that subject too much, but I think I'll start talking about it and I may even create a poll for that as well.
My angle is giving the breeder the credit that he or she deserves.(If they are comfortable with that)Too many people out there busting their ass in the dark.

Exactly. I come from a dog breeding background, too. Rottweilers, and I was PICKY about who I bred with, to keep to the AKC standard as close as I could get. Too many people out there who breed without concerns about the standard, just to make money. I wouldn't breed unless I found the pair suitable. My last Rottie, who just passed away at the end of January, was almost 11 years old, and he'd NEVER been bred, even though I was offered more than I paid for him at 7 weeks of age, one week later, at 8 weeks. He was definitely a show dog quality puppy, but I didn't pay that much for him. I spent two years searching for him, as I am particularly picky about my dogs. He was AKC standard, but I never found a female that I was satisfied with, to breed him with.

It actually came from someone that bought direct from them.

I don't trust those type of loons lol.

How does this make any sense? I'm saying the birds that they bought were trash. Not the ones they bred from stock they bought.
It doesn't make any sense. They bought birds that were trash, and then used them to breed from stock they bought? I would say it was the opposite. They bought good breeding stock, and then trashed the line with their own 'trash' stock, but blamed Greenfire.

They bought birds from GFF and did not use them to breed because they were trash. How are you not understanding that?

I have stock directly from greenfire. Their quality is not great, I definitely don’t recommend it.
