possible impacted crop

If it doesn't start moving, is it worth trying surgery? If there is an obstruction then the crop will just impact again i would think. I thought i felt something firm in her abdomen about the size of my thumb but when i put my finger in to try to find it, nothing was there.
The times I have seen obstructions they've been past the gizzard, so not something that operating on would help. Obstructions I have seen have been cancers and repro issues. Have not had a true crop impaction yet.

After the fluid was gone from the crop, it doesn't seem to have changed in size. She is a bit more fiesty than before and I couldn't get fluid into her by myself this time. When my husband gets home, i'll have him help hold her. My fingers are crossed a couple of good flushed will help her. I will get some safeguard tomorrow and give her some of that as well.

It might take a few times, 50 ml is not that much fluid. Had another thought... Twin City Poultry sells something called "crop binding capsules", and a few people here have said that it's just Colace (Docusate Calcium) and Twin City won't say what it is, just that it's a laxative. Maybe you could try that?

Her crop is the same today. I put in 60ml earlier. I tried to do more but she seemed to regurgitate when i did. Her poop right after was less watery but after she seemed to be straining some.

I have a feeling ita getting worse. I checked on her and it's been over 3hrs since i last flushed her and the size is not going down. It's still big and full of water. I'm heading to walmart for some colace. I hope it helps. At what point do i put her down?

She is the same today. I noticed some blood in her poo thismorning and it seems to hurt her when i try to feel her abdomen. I am beginning to thing there is no help for her. I gave her colace last night before bed and i guess I'll try again tonight. I hesitate to try surgery because i think it will jusy come right back and why make her suffering worse? Can i get more oponions please?

I still haven't done surgery. We were going to do it saturday but we lost power all night. Sunday she was acting like herself soI put her back with the flock and have been watching her. Her poops are way better but still not normal. She is running around and acting normal again but her crop is still too big. Im getting up early to check her and will do surgery tomorrow night if its not a lot smaller. I hesitate to do something drastic with her acting normal again. There was grass in her poo today and i let them in the front yard yesterday so food is moving through again. I hope my husband is right and she's just stuffing herself after so long being hungry.

We ended up doing surgery last night. It was filled with straw and leaves and corn. I couldn't believe how much stuff was in there. She's recovering in my bathroom. Fingers crossed she does well.
