post any and all waterfowl pictures here!!! ponds, pools, aviarys, coops, runs, etc.

I have a question. This is something I have not had before. Can a goose get bumble foot? This is what I found on my goose today.

What course of action should I take with this? Thanks

Yes they can get bumble looks like it's already open, soak the foot in a warm epsom salt bath[don't let the goose drink any it is also a laxative] soak at least 1X a day and pick up some colorless iodine and after soaking dry real good then use a qtip and apply the colorless iodine and let it dry do the iodine about every 3 days till healed.

Ok, thanks. I am the one who opened it because it looked so much like bumble foot. I was going on what I knew. Now I did not find any puss. Should I dig further into the affected area to find the puss? Or let the soaking and the iodine do the job?

Don't dig any more soak and use the iodine has to be the colorless though to really do the job, let it sit for about 3 days then after soaking look again see what it looks like usually the iodine will draw the core to the top[blk scab] and it isn't like normal human pus it's thick like cottage cheese. if you see it at the top sterlize some tweezers and pull the plug out, then just keep on with soaks and every 3 days with iodine till gone.
