OUR FIRST EGG!!! Not sure who laid it (Red Sex Link or RIR) They are both 22 weeks and 1 day



The one on the left is a store bought XL egg.... The RIGHT is our first egg!

My EE Martha laid her first egg today! She is 24 weeks old and what makes it more special is that she is one of my first chicks hatched by a broody.

My blue favaucana, Juniper, just laid her first beautiful green egg! I'm not sure if she laid it yesterday or this morning. I didn't bother to let them out to free range yesterday because they do not approve of the snow. I thought Juniper was complaining loudly because she was bored, but perhaps she was actually bragging about her accomplishments!

One of my baby girls laid her first egg today! I am so proud of her. X3 And so are her dad and brother who were standing guard over the nestbox watching her as she laid her first egg.

Here it is in comparison to one of her mother's eggs, so cute and small! The young hen was annoyed with me though as being a worrywort, the moment she hopped off the nest I was checking her bottom to be sure she didn't have any complications. It was a smooth egg-lay, not even any blood on the shell!
