HELP! I went to check on my female muscovy duck and her best and I noticed blood on her chest. I got worried so i checked her thinking it was coming from her but when I moved her I saw that the blood was coming from one of her eggs. I don't know if she layed down on the egg too hard or something but she cracked the egg open and it was bleeding (the egg was cracked halfway open and i could see inside it). It was not hatching on its own either because there were spider web cracks on the egg like when you drop an egg on the ground). I panicked and didn't know what to do because the duckling inside was chirping (the eggs are due in the next couple days) so i took it inside and my father and I slowly and carefully took it out of the egg hoping it was going to be old enough to survive. I am not sure what to do now though. I have it inside a small box on paper towels under a heat lamp and I have been sitting with it for almost 30 minutes now. It's still breathing and it seems to be sleeping right now but I am not sure what to do. If someone knows how to help me that would be amazing as I don't want this little baby to die, especially because it is due to hatch within the next week.

Was it bleeding when you took the shell off? If so that was too early, it needed more time to finish absorbing everything. But what's done is done. Did it have the yolk absorbed? It looks like it may have. It needs to rest and its stomach needs to finish closing up. You need to keep it warm. What day of incubation was it on when this occurred?

yes there was blood coming out of the egg when I found it that's why I was panicking. I have it under a heat lamp right now and it's still alive and seemingly ok for right now. It's been out for over an hour now. I'm not exactly sure what day as it was her nest and she has a couple eggs at different incubation times, but by my estimates it should've hatched on its own this weekend. I believe that it absorbed the yolk, but i'm not entirely sure.
