Thank you for guiding me through this! He made it through the night, cord came off itself, it did have a vein so left it, he's very weak though, he's sleeping lots which I suppose is a good thing? he must be exhausted after such a drawnnout early hatch! Not sure how to help it eat tonight as it's so weak maybe mix crumb with water to make a paste and try that way?? He's definitely going to need help

Great news! I'd wait a bit on the eating, forcing it into his bill might choke him. If he's not eating after 48 hours then maybe you could look into tube feeding.

Keep encouraging him to eat, though. Is he walking?

My chick waa rejected by his mother at a day old (just born)
He started to eat after 2 days. He was tired and quiet at first so let him have 2 days until he eats.
He ate chick crumbs and even budgie seeds as they are quite small. And i gave him water, if your chick doesnt drink encourage him by dipping his beak in the water.
Babies dont drink a lot but make sure he has access to water
