Pullet or Cockerel? Ameraucana.....It's official/Got a new name :)

Well folks I just came in from giving the birds some treats and guess what I found?

Nope, not an egg. I think I see saddle feathers coming in. Nice little pointy ones!

So, any blue hens or pullets out there that need rehomed?

I thought for the longest time that my brown AM was a roo because the AM's have slightly pointed feathers on the neck. Mine are molting right now so the feathers do appear to be slightly pointy. My leghorn roo has very thin pointy feathers, almost thick hairlike. Looking at your blue AM, she/he looks just like my AM. Any signs of spurs on the legs? Hens also have tiny spur like bumps too so don't get confused with those. My roo has very thick legs too.

Nope, no spurs. I have a black roo that's a little older and none on him either, so didn't help.

Then again, I have a barred Game hen that HAS spurs.

I think I have a bunch of gender confused birds!

Can you take a recent pic of him/her? It really does look like a girl with weird colouring, I mean there is no comb to speak of and all mine at 6 months were very obvious who was who. But that being said Ameraucanas are a tricky breed sometimes. Sorry if it is a boy

I hadn't seen the other posts in here till now.

The pics I had posted were from that same day. Very resent pics.

The saddle feathers I thought I saw, well I'm old. There aren't any.

This bird will be 1 year old on April 24th.
