Puncture Wound Won't Close

It looks to me like she’s doing a good job of healing that deep wound. Chickens are tough as nails, I would avoid fussing with it and picking the scab off unless it starts smelling or gets inflamed or you see pus.
 
I don't think the yellow part is a huge concern since the rest of it looks ok. Wounds that heal by second intention have to fill in with granular tissue, and that's what I am guessing that is.
It doesn't look like the type of granulation tissue I'm used to seeing in my flock, or my horses. :idunno
 
Update: wound not healing

She seems fine now. She has been reintegrated with the flock, seems healthy and just a little skittish. However, her wound is not healing!

It seems to be full of dead tissue, but there is no smell. I cut it back a bit a while ago and plan to do the same today. It seems to be expanding.

I am worried about removing it completely as while I think it is keeping it from healing, it also doesn't smell and is keeping stuff from getting in the wound. Thoughts?
