I know I need some sort of small shelter for quail, but obviously it doesn't need to be as large as for chickens. If I have a 3x6 foot area with a dozen and a half or so birds, what do I need for them to take shelter in and how large does it need to be? Recycled materials or reusing something is a big plus, minimal cost and expense helps, too.
Edit: How about a bottomless plastic dollhouse that has a door that they can go through? Then I could lift it up to clean when they're not in it.
Edit: Also, how big does their sandbox need to be? Will a cigar box do?
