It could be a ring of bacteria growing in there. Are you sure you see the chick moving? Does "the chick" only move when you tip the egg? If so, I'd say it's probably the remains floating in the fluid. I'd watch that egg carefully and give it the sniff test.

Weeping is when you see little beads of moisture on the outside of the egg....leaking through the pores of the egg.

twigg why do you say it doesnt look healthy. i was wondering so i know exactly what to look for in my other ones. if you could elaborate that would be great! thanks so much

I say it simply because most eggs simply follow a pattern of development, none of which includes the kind of shadow you are getting.

On the other hand, it could very well be a candeling or photography issue, and not every successful egg looks identical, so I qualified my comment.

I want EVERY egg to hatch, but, sadly, not all are meant to. I hope yours is good

I'm pretty sure that is what one of my eggs looked like and i was worried about it.....but all mine hatched and were fine. I think you should go with the others advice and watch it, but try not to worry too much. Good Luck with your hatch
