Raising and Growing Our Organic and Not- So-Organic Foods

Two videos explaining one method of trellising. Please note the type of vegetative growth. I can better see this is suitable for vining canes. Not all blackberries are trailing types. Many new varieties are thick strong canes that dont need this kind of trellising.

This is Dr Powell giving a detailed tutorial on pruning a thorny blackberry to a two -wire trellis system. It is a bit windy and hard to hear his voice, so turn up the volume, well worth listening to a pro.

T
His is a wonderful tutorial of the same m ethod. It show info in another way.

Kocide 101 a copper sulfate based fungicide

Please read up on these before using. Fireblight is a bacteria, not clear how kocide as a fungicide is beneficail in stopping fireblight. Perhaps it is bothe fungicide and bacterialcide.

Fireblight is far more deadly to fruit trees of several types ( pear, apple) and is can endanger the whole orchard. Prevalent in the Northeast. Trying to find more about its locations. I do know an orchard about an hour north of here was hit a couple years ago. An orchard of hundreds of old varieties.

This fellow mentions the importance of higher branching of fruit trees to have grazing under neath on the grasses. Cattle? Sheep are much shorter, so which is he referring to.
