Since 2014, each time when I get new chicks I have put them in the tub, it makes a great brooder. In 2018, we had pulled the tub out to refinish it.
So, I used totes- our old dog RIP 9-2018- loved to watch over them. I got the m the last week of May 2018

I kept them in the house a week
And then moved them out to the coop, they had it all to them selves. If you go to page #1 you can see how they did.

BUT! this time, as I add to the flock it will be different,,,

So, my husband brought me this large box from his work, and I bought a chick heater from https://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/index.html

So, there is going to be quite a bit more monitoring, I will have to have supervised play time in the run like last time BUT making sure the hens are ok with the chicks being in the run.

Sorry to jump in on this, but I have a mystery chick. I was told she was an Orpington, but she’s turning white. Is she a leghorn?
