and watermelon

They are 8 weeks old now and looking so good!

Late to respond but I loved my leghorns! Unfortunately, the two I had both met an early demise. I swear, they could get themselves in more predicaments and trouble than any of my others, but they were champion layers!

Well, you gave it a go, but hopefully you have found some chickens that are a good fit.

I would get more in a heartbeat - one it wasn't her fault, the dog got to her; the other had to be put down - somehow she managed to appear to break a wing and leg. They were funny - the only chickens I have had that would make a point to go swimming in the pool sometimes. I attribute their quirks to what someone else said - they are just very active. They are my daughter's favorite, even beating out our BOs, so we will likely add more next year.
