Ribh's D'Coopage

Looks amazing! I always kind of worry a bit as I’m painting too... it never looks right until it dries, and you think did they make some mistake when they mixed it? Was the lighting in the store that different?

I love how bright and vibrant it looks. Everything is possible, through the magical powers of chocolate and coffee!
Yep. You nailed it. I mean, how could I get it that wrong? In the tin it was like a glow~in~the~dark blue & I'm thinking, How do I explain this to John? Luckily by the time he saw it, it was looking the colour it was supposed to but I had an oh~oh moment there for sure.

Chocolate & coffee are miracle workers.

Next problem to think through is: do I need multiple food & water stations? I'm thinking yes because the first thing the girls do when they get up is head for the food & water. My present set up is plenty adequate for 4 ~6 girls but not, I'm thinking, for 12 ~ or a baker's dozen. I am already angling to sneak in that extra chook! :D My BA's tend to dominate the feeder @ times & the new girls shouldn't have to fight for every mouthful. I could, of course, throw their food down in the old fashioned way, like scratch, & let them scrabble for it while still keeping the feeder full. Space may be the determining factor. What do you all do, seeing as you all have more girls than I do?

I have a feeder for crumbles and a feeder for pellets.. and two waters in my pen now.. I think when the expansion is open I’ll put another feeder and water in the addition... something like that.. especially now that I’m up to 15 birds! Wow! That was quick! I was only supposed to get 4 total:oops:.. last year

My barnevelder is so assertive over the food, I have two feeding stations for two chooks
I adore my Barnevelder :love:love.. she is my favorite gal... well, there may be a three way tie right now between my Barny.. my EE.. and my RIR

Is she also top hen? My BAs were laying when I got them & dominated the food until the BRs started laying as well ~ & they still have a tendency to hog the food. My new girls will be POL & I want them to have a fair share from the start. There is actually enough food for everyone no matter what my BAs think! :D

I only have 11 in the one pen... 10 pullets, and my cockerel. I’ve found 2 3lb hanging feeders work well. I only have 1 1gallon waterer, but plan on using some buckets with horizontal nipples or cups. I know that I don’t have enough water for them yet as I have to refill it twice a day.
