Most of you know I have chronic broodies. I was hopeful, after the chick debacle, they were cured of their chronic need to sit the entire summer.
No such luck.
Chavi has been @ it for a week @ least. Today Tootsie joined her.
My bantams are almost impossible to break & the struggle is hardly worth the effort so I have given them an egg each; one of India's & one of Ha'penny's. if they are going to sit they may as well sit to some purpose. I'm not even sure the eggs are fertile but I removed the bantam eggs as I have never seen Leonard mate with any of the bantams. Leonard is hardly importunate.
Hopefully they will do better this time round but Ha'penny is an older hen & her shells are getting a little on the thin side so I am not overly hopeful this time either.

Unfortunately this cat is not innocent. It has killed a couple doves and tried to kill a chicken. The feral cat problem here has gotten worse . I still love cats, but I don't know what to do with cats like this one.

If it tried to kill a chicken, I would trap it and take it to the humane society. I would not let it hang out with my chickens. I could care less if it eats doves. That's it's job.
