Ribh's D'Coopage

Heat stress can cause egg laying issues. Let's hope it's nothing more.
Our humidity has been awful. Both the man & I have been suffering so I'm not surprised the chooks are. Cooler today even though the humidity is higher.

We were potting up stags this morning so I let Ha'penny out. This is what we were subjected to; the distress is real:
She had 4 or 5 goes @ hopping the fence to head for her nesting spot. When she finally made it she was circling round until she realised I wasn't going to round her up. She shot towards it, then came to a crashing halt & gave me the dirtiest look over her shoulder as she realised every single egg she's so lovingly stashed had vanished! She spent a few minutes there but as it obviously wasn't the same she hopped back over the fence & went to lay in a nesting box. I've yet to check as the rain is now raining! :celebrate
Poor Ha'penny, missing her eggs.

I am posting this sunrise here because this is the sunrise/sunset thread. I almost posted it on mine. Yikes!

We're are expecting out first reasonable snow today. Perhaps up to 3 inches. So I let the girls out early for some free range as they will likely go back in on their own once it starts.

How are you CCCL. I hope your procedure went well. :hugs

I'm had a bit of a rough time. The procedure itself went well with no issues. However I developed the dreaded spinal headache. I'm currently on day 5 of laying completely flat. I'm drinking lots of fluid and caffeine per the doctor in order to replenish my spinal fluid.

I'm so thankful for Rich as he has waited on me hand and foot. I'm not an easy patient, I just want to get up and do things myself but I can not at the moment.

Sitting up feels like my head is being squeezed so hard my eyeballs are going to pop out. I'm used to headaches, I've suffered from migraines for over 20 years, but this is a completely different pain.

My furry nurse, Scooby, is also on the job. He's holding me down right now! :gig

Most people round here start their day early in summer. Just the same this morning's visitor is lucky I wasn't still in my PJs. Mangoes for eggs. :) The man will be happy. I didn't have a full dozen. I've given away heaps this week but we went round to check the boxes just in case the girls had been accommodating & so she could meet the girls who have been supplying her. Lavender got her attention. No~one can believe that girl & it's just as well she's so pretty because she doesn't have the nicest temperament! No eggs but people are always surprised I can keep chooks without them stinking to high heaven!
