Ribh's D'Coopage

I have a CWA cookbook too! I haven't tried any of its recipes yet because it postdates my llove of slowcooking. I've been expanding my slowcooking repertoire for six years or thereabouts, so yummy.

But now you've recommended it, I'll take a deeper look at the cwa recipe book :)
I love my slow cooker!:love I usually do my vegetarian curry in it. I never used the CWA book for meals but I imagine they are tried & true standards. I used it for baked goods as there were often 8 ~ 10 of us to feed. I'd get a lot of the neighbourhood kids as well as our own & I taught lots of them to bake as well because their own folks wouldn't let them in the kitchen. :(

Also, ribh, is there any chance of a photo of the faverolles egg?

Here we go. :) No~one else lays such a dark egg ~ though I notice it also has speckles. The other favorelle lays a white egg. I should have asked what they got crossed with but they both do that really long torpedo shape.

Very pretty, I love the smooth even color! I’m seriously thinking about roll away nest box inserts, to prevent pecked and scuffed eggs. With the brown ones, because it’s kind of a coating over the white sometimes they manage to rub off some of the color in a weird way before it’s fully dry/set or whatever it’s super apparent on the Marans eggs, but the Barnvelder ladies and Princess seem to be the primary culprits.

Now that is weird because some of my *brownish* eggs have *tide marks* where the brown fades; sometimes quite a distinct line. They probably won't photograph well but I may try next time I get one.

I have been crocheting picots all day. Painstaking & frustrating but so pretty when finished! The girl has asked for hand~holding tomorrow while she has fillings so this can go with me & on to its intended recipient. I hate the colours so am rather pleased to see the back of this one! The girls took the opportunity of my preoccupation to enlarge the gap in the fence & stage a mass breakout. I have now done a patch up job on it & listened to the squawking protests for a good hour afterwards! Tough bikkies, girls!
