When I first started out, I had lap turkeys. I no longer encourage such behavior as it only takes one to land on your shoulder to convince you that it was a bad idea.

I had a disinterment yesterday.... Chickens are disgusting. Then she wanted to love on me later. ICK!

I have large planks I use for a year before I plant grass and/or flowers that is wired off. I had to come up with a system. They can be disgusting.

I always liked birds but I didn't really like handling them. Now I have lap chickens. Apparently. They are not being encouraged.

At present I've got one girl dropping her egg on it's pointy head & cracking the shell ~ not the membrane, thankfully! *sigh* This is what you do, lady. Get it right!

I'm sure that she would like to see you pull off that trick of laying it the "right" way.

I am amazed everytime I think about how an egg that size comes out of these small animals. And mine do it with no fuss. No egg song. Like it was nothing. Crazy.

From your photo, I thought you must have just about every variety there is!
What other shades are there apart from white, brown, pink , green , blue and speckled?

Well, I don’t have a blue.. yet ... I’m hoping from the EEs I’ll get some blue and or maybe other shades of green... just hoping no more brown.. as BY BoBs EEs lay brown ...

and I thought my little leghorn X flying at my head for a shoulder perch was scary. I can’t imaging having a turkey pull that!

Just getting ready for the market today. And super proud... my cats managed to catch their first mouse since moving to the farm! The chickens and I both have them beat in the rodent control department, but at long last they are finally starting to pull their weight in pest control!
