Good morning folks
Jeannie, when I go in to refill the feeder, I always toss a scoop of feed in the run... My idea of keeping birds from being under foot. It never works, but I keep trying. Once I'm in the coop, they are all over my feet, some stand on the feed bucket... They may take a bite here and there, but mostly stare or glare at me, and they always have a lot to say. I think I'm being cussed out. At least to me it doesn't sound like endearing chatter. Once the feed and water containers are fully filled, they run out to the run and scarf up the feed I threw out there. So my best guess is they are supervising the refill operations and giving their opinions on my effectiveness. I'm so glad they don't write my performance report
What a spectacular sky. Thanks for sharing
I do something similar because I am terrified of stepping on someone they all mob me and I have to shuffle forward - but because of the hill it is all a bit difficult. Sometimes I can distract someone by tossing some feed on the floor away from my feet, but mainly it only gets one of them out of the way for a few minutes! Like you, I keep trying!![]()

It's a perennial chicken problem. I have stepped on a few toes and once accidentally booted Pepper gently across the run.Mine do this too! They are all over and underfoot when I go in the run. And if I have their food containers, they peck at the food containers, and generally swarm me.
If I go in with the tell-tale bag of crickets, look out! They try to rip the bag out of my hands!
