We have had a name change.
Whenever I went to write about this sweet girl I found myself typing *Gloria* instead of
*Beatrice.*
Now look here, I said, we are having Shakespearean ladies this time round & you agreed to Beatrice.

Well, I am a Shakespearean lady. Beatrice is ok if you insist but I am Gloriana really. Shakespeare wrote all those absurd plays for me in the first place. And just look @ my glorious red wig! I think you should reconsider. I really do.

So I have. It seems pretty pointless to argue when I've been typing Gloria all along.

Well my broodies are still broody but I finally managed to find a stump small enough for the little coop & everyone tried roosting on the ramp throughout the day. I'm hoping they will take themselves to bed tonight.

Lock. While her legs aren't going to win any catwalk prizes they are much better than they were.
I still couldn't place her in the hierachy. When it comes to food like the cockerels, she stands back and waits for the other hens to eat or comes and pecks my boot for a treat.

She is quite beautiful... I love the little crests. Is it just me or do her saddle feathers have a little more drape to them than most hens as well? They almost remind be of a roosters the way they are laying, not nearly as colorful and not pointed, but still more like the way a rooster’s feathers would sit?

I think she has a few roosterish charactaristics; wing angle, saddle feathers, head shape, walk.....

I am near sighted and need my glasses to find where I put my glasses (or indeed not to walk into walls).

One of the salmons knocked my glasses off at bedtime, and because they are rimless, they are very hard to see, especially at dusk! I had to get hubby to find them for me with a torch!
