Well I believe that this "little guy" will make it to the breeding pen this fall.
He is a spring 09 hatch and is starting to show good size, type, color, depth of color, correct tail angle and length of back.
He should be real close to his father in size, type, correct tail angle and length of back but a little darker and a little more depth of color.

This is the sire to the above young rooster.

I will try to get some pictures of this this years hatch that is looking promising.

Yes indeed...BEAUTIFUL birds! I am so in love with my Reds...they are so friendly and mild tempered. I know they are still young so I hope the temperament doesn't change.
Thank you kathyinmo- I do try to spoil them. I can't wait to see an egg! It should be roughly around Septemberish I think!

Has anyone ever crossed a Dominicker and a RIR. I have tow RIR and batters sex linked hens now. Would they look about the same black with some color on their shoulders. I love my RIRs. Started out with two and not got 18 and wanting to hatch more.

Hi i am a owner of 3 RIR they just turened 9 weeks old i know i have two pullets but still not to sure about the 3rd one it has not crowed yet waiting to see if it does so i can be sure of what sex it is. they are all sweet and they know when i come outside they will get a small treat(but they only get a treat twice a week) i think they are cute when they come running when we come outside here are some pics of my babies pitchured with my other babies
