The gray one is a hen for sure has been laying. But not sure about my white and red one

What are the characteristics that you look for to tell recently got these two was told they were both hens

The white and red one is a scary cat it is scared of its own shadow had to isolated fron the others would not eat or drink

You can tell because of the pointed saddle and hackle feathers coming in, as well as the red on his wings.

Agreed, easter egger cockerel.

He's got the pointed male saddle colors (see below) and the lovely red wing bars (see below). While he comes from strong ameraucana stock, his colors don't follow any of the breed standards.
