Royal Palm turkey's

Ok so could my older one still be a midget white if its starting to get black on the tips of its feathers? One of my tiny white little guys has a really small dark spot in the middle of its back almost looks dirty but the other is solid white! I'm hoping for royal palms! I'd be happy with healthy birds either way but I really secretly want royal palms lol

Most likely no royal palms start to get black on there wings not midgets.

I do have a question,being new to turkeys...I have an RP tom , standard white hen and BR hen...is it normal for the hens to share setting duties? They are taking turns setting and also setting same time same nest at times ? Only one nest.

I hope someone can help me. I bought 2 Royal Palm turkey chicks (less than a week old). I put them in the "nursery" where I have successfully raised many baby chickens, guineas and ducks, of all sorts. The nursery bin has a heat lamp, a thermometer that consistently read 85-90F, a shade over one end, starter feed, a chick waterer, and clean newspaper on the floor. What was odd, was that from the very first day, both little poults obsessively jumped and jumped and jumped up non-stop in the corner trying to get out. The 1st one died after one week. She had jumped up against the corner of the bin so much, she got a bruised and bloody beak. Now, a week later, the 2nd one, who seemed fine this morning, is also dead. I'm so miserable about it, but don't understand their behavior. I've never raised a turkey before, do they always do that--jumping non-stop trying to get out?

It is not normal behavior. Where are you measuring the temperature? If you are measuring the air temperature then it was too hot and they trying to get away from the heat.

The temperature should be measured at the bedding level. For newly hatched poults the temperature measured at the bedding level should be 90°-95°F. It can be reduced by 5°F each week until it reaches the ambient temperature.
