Clipping is the only way. I wouldn’t want to pinion either. Their love of flying is the main reason I clip my Muscovy wings. We live in the woods and way to many predators for them to be flying around.

Alright I guess I will just hope for the best that she won't try to fly off until I can get them clipped.Clipping is the only way. I wouldn’t want to pinion either. She isn't really trying to fly yet I think she's probably got another week or 2 before she will be able to actually get lift. How will I know when it is time to cut them again. Just when they look to be about full grown? Is she trying to fly? I would clip as soon as her feathers grow back in. Then just clip after she has her big molt which will be 1x a year. I have a good chart for clipping I’ll get it for you! Merry Christmas!
So sweet she let you pet her!Just a little update, she came up for pets again today. This was the 1st time she has since that initial video. This time she just hung out for awhile and I just sat there petting all 3 of them one at a time for a good 10 minutes.
Her feathers are almost completely grown back yesterday she started attempting flight, but not successfully yet. I am hoping that at this point she doesn't want to leave. The constant tapping you hear in the video is my duck penguin sitting on my lap biting the picture of the other duck on my phone screen![]()
