Setting 7/21 - should be due on 8/10 anyone else?

Out of the original 18, I am pretty sure I have 12 growing, sadly the green surprise egg is not among them. Not giving up on it yet though....C'mon chicks and

I wasn't going to candle until Day 14 but I kept smelling something odd coming from the bator so I candled & removed a few more eggs. Goodbye to my Welsummer

I'm going to leave the other not clearly growing eggs in until Day 14 and then I'll remove them just in case I'm just not seeing through them good enough - unless of course they start to stink - then they get pulled right away.

Well, I am now hoping to hatch: (1) Wheaten Penedesenca, (2) Ancona and (1) Ameraucana/Araucana. Although the WP is iffy as to whether it's growing at this point. It hasn't started stinking - so I'll keep it around a bit longer. And not give up on it. the other 3 were clearly moving and beating away in their shells.

I will be setting the chicken eggs today, got 15 shipped lavendar ameraucana eggs, and putting 10 BR into the bator from my own flock just to see if any hatch (I only have 2 roosters with 24 hens) We will see!

I candled last night and the 18 shipped silkie eggs I have 10 clear or blood rings. This is the most blood rings I ever had in one batch and I think it has to do with shipping. I have all 8 of my own eggs doing good. So it looks like I have a total of 8 shipped silkie eggs and 8 of my own bantam cochins.

I'm due on 8/10 as well! Sounds like I'm having a child, but chickies are nearly the same. All of my silkies are developing well. Its so amazing to watch them swim around. Its almost like watching a little alien. I love it. Good look with your chicks!
